Basic Wooden Potting Bench
This plan is quite simple indeed. Basically, it is like building a wooden bench or wooden desk with additional shelves. You can use wooden boards or even recycled wooden pallets to save budget. Cut the boards to make two front legs with measured to be ergonomic for your body. Two of back legs must be longer than the front legs because they will also be used as frame for the racks. Build the frame for the legs, attach the skirts, and install the countertop. Once the structure ready, install the bottom and top shelves. With simple finishing details, the potting bench is ready to use.
Fence Potting Bench
It is pretty much the same with the basic potting bench. The distinctive feature is instead of top shelves, it is replaced with a hardwire fence like structure. The fence structure is made with heavy duty hardwire cloth attached to the back legs and top frames. This structure will be a very useful organizer. You can hang small gardening tools, small packaging of gardening products, or even small planters using the s hooks.
Potting Bench with Extended Countertop
Again, it uses the same basic potting bench plans with longer countertop. You will need longer countertop support structure and install wider countertop. This gives extra space on each side of the bench and it can accommodate more pots and plants.
Potting Bench with Sunken Tube
The only difference this plan with the basic potting bench plan is the hollow space on the countertop surface to accommodate sunken tube. You can either choose metal or plastic tube to use and measure the hollow space so the tube can fit in. A sunken space on the countertop allows you do the messy parts of potting there so the dirt won’t smear the countertop surface. The tube is removable so you can easily get rid the dirt and clean the tube.
This cart is potting bench on wheels. Compared to basic potting bench plans, this one has no top shelves. Attached wheels on one or two end side of the bench to make it portable. It requires extra length on the top supports to shape the handle. This portable potting bench is suitable for small garden space. You can keep the card in the garage and roll it out to the garden only when you need it.
